Thinking of a romantic getaway?  Thinking of having a dialogue with nature?  Why not surprise your bae with a nature getaway?  Then head to Signature Club Resort at Devanahalli, Bangalore to escape the hustle, bustle and day to day responsibilities of your normal lives for a week of fun and relaxation. The best thing about this resort is it's exclusivity and the intimate vibe it has around it. Park yourselves amidst the trees, grab a book or chug a beer and gaze at the stars, I know life is sorted.

A couple of weeks back, I was feeling that the hectic city life, tiring drives through the mad traffic,  endless deadlines, never-ending work schedules were all taking a toll on me which made me think deeply, that sometimes, a break from your routine is the very thing you need. And that's when the invite came over from Signature Club Resort and this invite was exclusively for the women bloggers on behalf of Women's Day, I totally loved the way they choose to patronise the women and I decided to pamper myself with a relaxed and chilled out staycation at Signature Club Resort, Devanahalli, Bangalore.

The Weekend Story :

It was a bright Saturday afternoon while I was so excited for the staycation with a bunch of my friends. Got the cab from the resort on time to my home to pick me up, We reached the resort around 3 pm. We were welcomed very warmly with a refreshing welcome drink. Right from the moment, we entered into the resort till we checked out, it was ultimate pampering, indulgence and pure bliss amidst nature. The best part of the staycation was no traffic lights, no honking cars, no chaos nothing... It was only relaxation and rejuvenation.

Those waves of laughter while we sipped some mocktails and grabbed some snacks, breezy evenings just listening to the birds chirping, when the calm evening embraced the sunset at this exotic place, few of us preferred to hit the badminton court and few decided to plunge into the temperature controlled swim-pool, a hearty dinner which splashed with happiness and finishing the day off with a long walk at the amazing walking stretch in the resort, all these beautiful memories are gonna be etched in our hearts forever as golden moments. After all these wondrous times, I slipped into my bed and slept like a baby.

I had actually planned to make use of the Yoga Terrace on Sunday morning, but complain this cosy bed which was not leaving me and I slept my heart out, my bad I had to skip my daily dose of yoga but it's okay to break the rule one day and it was a Sunday, trust me guys, it's absolutely okay to live life to the fullest. All recharged after a good night's sleep, the Sunday looked more beautiful. We then headed to the restaurant "Tamarind" and indulged ourselves into a good continental and Indian breakfast. Did a crazy photo shoot, laughed out loud, relaxed, chit-chatted, listened to the birds chirping and went around the resort for a nature walk.  Have to mention the ala-carte lunch we tried at the restaurant "Tamarind". The ala-carte menu is vast in variety and every dish we ordered was amazing. Some wanted their food spicy, some non-spicy, the wait-staff were so courteous to take our requests patiently and delivered it the best.

Sunday Funday is meant to relax and recharge. And that's how I spent my Sunday last week. I have always wanted to try the Parsi food and headed to Soda Bottle Opener Wala in Lavelle Road with a bunch of my friends to enjoy an extravagant new year bhonu and it turned out to be one of the best Sunday's. Yes, we all indulged in the exotic Navroze Delights.  The menu is very well curated with some lip-smacking delicacies which are traditionally a part of Parsi's New Year celebrations.

As you plunge into Lavelle Road, Bangalore, there are so many options to choose to eat, but ignore all of them and head to this Irani Cafe Soda Bottle Opener Wala, am sure you will switch on your repeat mode henceforth. I have to mention the sensational aroma which hit me as I entered into this place and stirred up my hunger.

The ambience of this Irani cafe oozes a very old world charm with black and white checked tile flooring, portraits of Parsi's on the wall, wooden tables well laid with red chequered table-cloth, candy jars, cycle with milk cans, old style electric switches, bottle lights which adds to that quirk ambience, a juke box in the corner playing some good old songs which made us feel to sit there forever. I totally fell in love with this old-styled yet quirky ambience.

Being a first timer to SBOW, i was quite excited to try out the Navroze delicacies. The food served in the new year bhonu boasts of an array of dishes exclusive to the Parsi's and its presented in its most authentic form. The veg meal is priced at Rs.600++ and non-veg meal is priced at Rs.700++ which is totally worth it for the yummy varieties they are offering.

The Non-Veg meal came in a huge thali which had all the varieties sure to drive the meat-eaters crazy. Started with Gajar Mewa Nu Aachar, a sweet and spicy carrot preparation,  Russian Salad, Chicken Pattice, a deep fried goodness. They say that for Parsi's fish is a symbol of good luck and prosperity and the bhonu had a huge fried Mackerel which made the sea food lovers go gagaa.

For the rice eaters there is Mutton Masala Pulav, a heart-warming combination of mutton and spices in fragrant rice. The rotli's went amazingly well with the Masala Di Daal and Jardaloo Ma Marghi, a chicken curry with dried apricots which gives that Persian touch and a sweet addition to the mildy spiced dish. We finished the grand thali with a glass of falooda.

The veggies also loved their meals, it had the Saria, Gajar Mewa Nu Aachar, Russian Salad, Vegetable Cutlet, Tarela Bheeda, Patra Ni Paneer, a steamed paneer preparation wrapped in banana leaves and steam cooked.  Masala Di Daal, Vegetable Pulav and Falooda.

And don't forget to sip this amazing raspberry soda.....
The Crumb Stash's Verdict and Rating:
Overall, both the Veg and Non-Veg Bhonu was yummilicious and splendid. Thank you Soda Bottle Opener Wala for making my Sunday a memorable one with the traditional new year bhonu and making us experience the best of Irani culture. So all you mighty foodies, come and unwind at this iconic Irani cafe after a long day at work or rejuvenate yourselves with this grand thali for lunch. It's on till 1st April, 2018.

My overall rating for SBOW would be a 5/5 based on the quality, ambience, taste and service.

Don't forget to click this cycle with milk cans while you wait to get your car from the Valet Parking...

Indulge In The Potpourri Of Goan Flavours And Much More...

Lady Baga opened its door to Bengalureans in the month of November and now in February, they have launched a new menu, with a wide range of glorious and addictive Goan and continental food. The new menu is truly a delight to the Sea Food enthusiasts and Vegetarians too, Yup! I must say that the food here is truly a potpourri of Goan flavors and much more.

We kickstarted the lunch with some drinks, I opted the Lady Baga Bubbly, a refreshing mocktail which lives up to its name, The name is so spunky that I tried it and is definitely a winner for hot sunny days and also fit for a relaxed evening too. It had apple juice, sprite, tea, orange jelly and I quite liked the play of flavors. I know it will be a sin if I don't taste the Port-Wine Sangria, I did taste and these drinks spruced up my day to a different level. 😃😃

In Starters, we tried the Dancing Chicken, chicken wings crumbed and tossed in vindaloo sauce. If you love spicy Goan food, then you must give this a try.  The Sungta Maria had Goan style masala prawns lying happily on the fried toast, this is a perfect party pleaser.

I tried both the Veg and Non-Veg versions of Rissois Verde, was not a huge fan of this, but the vegetarian friend seemed to love it.

Veg Rissois Verde                                                                        Non-Veg Rissois Verde

Glanced through the menu while having the Verde's, ended up ordering the Lemon Butter Garlic Prawns, and Oh My God, it was one fantastic dish, a show-stopper for starters. Juicy prawns tossed in butter, garlic and finished with lemon juice. This creamy and delicately flavored prawn tasted divine and is something which you should not miss at all when at Lady Baga.  The Crumb Stash highly recommends this dish.

Lemon Butter Garlic Prawns- Was so delicious and am going back for this...

If you are a salad lover like me, do try out the Kale and Quinoa Salad,

In Main Course, we had the Portuguese Pilaf with Chicken, a great twist to the regular fare. Long grain rice cooked in the seasoned broth along with Goan spices, cashew, and raisins.

Root Veg Crepes, a gorgeous dish by itself. The crepes are stuffed with root veggies and topped with a truffle cream sauce. These crepes are elegantly plated, light, fluffy, silky smooth and this luxurious dish will guarantee to make your day a special one.

Root Veg Crepes                                                              That's the stuffing inside the crepe

What's Goan food without the fish curry, We tried two seafood curries which are served with steamed rice.  The Goan Pomfret curry had a huge pomfret doused in slightly tangy, spicy and yummy curry.

If you feel that juicy prawns cooked in a creamy coconut sauce can do the magic for you go for this curry Camaroa De Cadinha. The seafood here is very fresh that you could smell the sea out of it.

Heartily ended up the meal with Bebinca, the Queen of Desserts. But what excited me more was the Vanilla and Saffron Panna Cota, this creamy dessert is a pure indulgence and had mild flavors of vanilla and saffron satisfying the soul in every scoop. We also tried the Valrhona Dark Chocolate Fondant

The Crumb Stash's Verdict and Ratings :

The verdict now... Okay! seriously why you even surprised? Lady Baga is easily one of the best go-to places in Bangalore for Goan food.

Bengaluru, the city of flavors and the busy bustling IT hub is well known for its rich food culture and also for a lot of diversities in terms of cuisines. The city is spoilt for too many choices, and out of all, a buffet place always scores the best when it comes to the value of money. When there are large groups, of-course peoples opinions and tastes vary, so a buffet place is always better as there is something to please everyone, full of variety and with a taste of everything. One such great place to hit up with your family/friends is The Spice Bazaar.

The Spice Bazaar is a hassle-free buffet place that can satisfy your never-ending appetite without creating a hole in your pocket. This new Indian buffet restaurant is situated in the heart of Lavelle Road on the terrace of Hotel Southern Star. Once you enter The Spice Bazaar, it's calm and peaceful leaving the chaos of the world outside.

Yes, it's an inviting space to share a drink, soak up in some mouth-watering food, enjoy the bright sun smiling at you, feel the wind in your face and unwind with good company. The ambiance of the place is a reminiscence of a Haveli, where open-air tables are filled with good food and overlooks the green expanse.

Food - The Happy Mix of Traditional Favourites :

We were a bunch of friends and we all traveled from quite a long distance all the way to Lavelle Road, We all kickstarted the lunch by ordering some mocktails and cocktails. I had opted for the Cucumber Cooler which was a thirst quenching affair.

The buffet has 4 Veg and 4 Non-Veg Starters along with Soups, Salads, Chaats, Main Courses and Desserts. The starters are served on the table and every starter is a hit here. Who doesn't love smokey, charred, juicy and tender tikkas? We loved the magic the chef had done to every starter served. Right from the creamy and tender Malai Paneer Tikkas to Andhra Chilli Chicken to succulent Chicken Tikkas spruced up with spices and garnished well were yummy and started ruling our senses.

The Amritsari Fish also wowed the taste buds of the sea-food lovers.

There was this Mutton Sheekh Kebab which was stuffed with green chilli, Don't scream now, trust me it was one amazing starter oozing out with flavors. Vegetarians rejoiced the Mushroom Ghee Roast and Tandoori Potatoes, which was crispy outside, soft and melting inside.

Overall the starters were downright divine. The smokey, char-grilled aroma and delicious flavors of the tikkas and kebabs surely got us all hooked.

After the starters, went to the buffet counter and helped myself with a bowl of piping hot Tomato soup, sounds very simple right? but it was way too good that I had to go with a second serving too.

In the main courses, I tried a couple of curries with Indian Bread and Steamed Rice. Kori Gassi, Dal Makhani, Dhingri Palak and the Sajan Chicken Curry were worth trying. The Mutton Briyani was yummy and the vegetarians had the Cashew Pulav.

The desserts had a mix of Indian and continental and were a perfect end to the sumptuous feast.

The Crumb Stash's Verdict and Ratings :

Overall, The Spice Bazaar is one amazing place in the heart of the city where you can hang out with your loved ones, friends/family for a sumptuous feast. The buffet is very reasonably priced at Rs. 499 plus taxes (lunch) and Rs.599 plus taxes (dinner). You don't have to struggle to order dishes, just relax and the chef will create some magic to excite your palette. Go, there to discover the joy of yummilicious and lavish buffet, yet at a very reasonable price.
